Adjectives! Adjectives! Monday June 28, 2004

Reportedly, supposedly, allegedly, probably.

What are these? and why am I listing them here?

Well, these are the most used adjectives in English language in the media world. I see/read in the media everyday and am immune to this now.

But this piece of “reporting” caught my attention, for it uses all adjectives at once.

Vice President Dick Cheney (search) reportedly, supposedly, allegedly, probably told Sen. Pat Leahy (search) to go — not to Hades — but to do something to himself that we all know is most cases physically impossible.

BTW, Fox News’ motto is “balanced” reporting. And they don’t have any “agenda” per se. They are always “right.”

The sircasm can’t be missed from the FoxNews report!

Indeed there was an attempt by Republicans to repudiate the report of the “auto-coitus” episode”!!
